    The LA 84 Foundation in Partnership Cal South will host the "Celebrate and Grow Women in Coaching" a clinic on December 8 at Santiago Canyon College in Orange CA. With the support of the LA84 Foundation, this clinic will aid Cal South in promoting and assisting female coaches in advancing their knowledge and credentials in the game of soccer.

    The following Female Women Powerhouses in Soccer are scheduled to appear:

    Laura Harvey is an English professional women's football coach and former player. She was most recently head coach for Seattle Reign FC of the NWSL. She previously coached Arsenal L.F.C. and Birmingham City L.F.C. and served as assistant coach for the England women's national football team at the U-17, U-19 and U-23 levels. Harvey was named FAWSL Coach of the Year in 2011 after guiding Arsenal to win the league title, FA Cup, and Continental Cup. She was named NWSL Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015. 

    Dawn Scott is currently the head strength and fitness coach of The Women’s US National team. Dawn first worked with the USWNT in January 2010 and joined Pia Sundhage’s full-time staff the following February, working with the USA in both the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2012 Olympics. Scott has also spent time in the English Football Association, prior to her time in the States, where she was the exercise scientist for the England Women’s National team.

    All attendees will receive credit and an official certificate of completion that can be applied to the US Soccer Digital Coaching Center under qualifications for furthering your national coaching education profile.

     
    Although this course is specialized for women, it is open to all.

    5:30pm-6:15pm - Dawn Scott (Field) – The importance of using the ball when possible to help build Strength & Fitness in Soccer.

    6:15pm-7:00pm Laura Harvey (Field) – Creating goal scoring opportunities through patterns of play.

     December 9th:

    3:00pm-3:45pm – Dawn Scott (Classroom) – What it takes to be an Elite Athlete.

    3:45pm-4:30pm - Laura Harvey (Classroom) – The Importance of Coach Development

    4:30pm-5:15pm - Dawn Scott (Field) – The importance of using the ball as much possible to help build Strength & Fitness in Soccer in young players


    5:15pm-6:00pm - Laura Harvey (Field) – Encouraging younger players to take risks in and around the attacking third

    Space is limited to 100 attendees. This clinic will appeal to all College, High School & Club Coaches.
