    CDC Concussion (Pre-course online module)
    Coaching tactics
    Laws of the Game (Pre-Course online module)
    Principles of attack and defense 
    Small-sided games

    Course Length:
    18 total hours of instruction (5 hours classroom, 13 hours field work)

    What to bring:

    Completed pre-course work, print out of “E” PRACTICAL COACHING SUMMARY sheet found on page 87 of the “E” License Candidate Guidebook, notepad and pen/pencil for classroom session, properly inflated size 5 ball, appropriate soccer attire for field work, comfortable training shoes, water/snacks, sunscreen lotion (optional), portable chair (optional), lunch (optional, as you will be allowed off campus for lunch if preferred).   


    Cal South “E” Pre Course Assignments:
    You will be asked to complete three pre course assignments, which can be found on http://www.ussoccer.com/Coaches/Licenses/National-E.aspx A detailed explanation of the pre-course work can also be found in the “E” License Candidate Guidebook. 
     
    Assignment #1:
    A written "Team Management Assignment".  You will choose and complete 1 of the 3 prompts given. 

    Assignment #2:
    The Essential FIFA & Modified SSG Rules.  You must register and complete the FIFA Laws of the Game which can be found:
     

     
    Please print out the certificate that corresponds and bring the certificates with you to the course (Note: Please print each certificate immediately after completion of Law as you will not be given the opportunity to print at the completion of entire assignment). 

    Part B of Assignment #2:
    Is Modified Small-Sided Games Rules.  More information can be found on page 81 of the Candidate Guidebook.  Please contact your local league to obtain a list of the modified rules as they apply to the age group you currently coach.  If you are not currently part of a league, please see:

    The CDC "Concussion in Youth Sports Assignment, which can be found: 
     

     
    It is MANDANTORY that you complete the pre course assignments and turn them into the course instructor prior to the start of the course. You are required to be in attendance for the full duration of the course and also successfully complete a practical field session.
    If a Candidate receives a "Not Ready" Grade it’s strongly recommended the candidate attend the full "E" course at zero cost before attending the “D” Course.
