2014 Cal South / USSF License "D" Course
The "D" License is strongly recommended for all competitive coaches of players 13 years old and up.
This 36-hour course is the most comprehensive course offered and is preparatory for National "C"
licensing. Only a limited number of courses are offered each year and sign up for this course must be
accomplished through the State Office.

"E" LICENSE FOR A MINIMUM OF SIX MONTHS***

Course Length: |
36 hours total- 12 hours in classroom and 24 hours of field sessions. Any candidate that fails to attend the FULL 36 hour course will receive a "Not Ready" grade and must wait for a period of six months before re-testing. |
Training Sessions: |
Five training sessions will be prepared prior to the first weekend of instruction. Five training sessions will be prepared in between the first and second weekends. In addition to the classroom and field instruction, attendees must attend two webinar sessions sometime in between the weekends. |
Grades: |
Attendees will receive 1 of 3 grades:
National “D” License-full privileges of the license and may attend a National “C” License course in the future
National “D” Certificate-coach must attend a second weekend of the License “D” Course and receive a passing score to attain a National “D” License (6-month wait period)
Not Ready-coach must pay for and attend the full License “D” Course from the beginning again (6-month wait period) |

•Completed pre-course assignments •Notepad and pen/pencil for classroom session •Properly inflated size 5 soccer ball •Appropriate soccer attire and comfortable training shoes for field work •Water/snacks, sunscreen lotion (optional), portable chair (optional) •Lunch (optional, as you will be allowed off campus for lunch if preferred). |

Assignment 2.) |
Two weeks prior to course start date, candidate must submit five completed practice coaching sessions chosen from the below list of topics to espruell@calsouth.com:
• Goalkeeping-Shot stopping and hand distribution • Individual Defending • Receiving and turning • Improve your team's ability to build up through the midfield • Improve your team's ability to recover the ball in the defensive half.
Each practice coaching session must be conducted with an age appropriate team (U13-U14) and signed off on by the organization’s Director of Coaching or President prior to submission.

It is MANDATORY that you complete the pre course assignments and turn them into the course instructor prior to the start of the course. You are required to be in attendance for the full duration of the course and also successfully complete a practical field session. |
