The "D" License is strongly recommended for all competitive coaches of players 13 years old and up. This 36-hour course is the most comprehensive course offered and is preparatory for National "C" licensing. Only a limited number of courses are offered each year and sign up for this course must be accomplished through the State Office.

Course Length: 36 hours total- 12 hours in classroom and 24 hours of field sessions.
Any candidate that fails to attend the FULL 36 hour course will receive a "Not Ready" grade and must wait for a period of six months before re-testing.
Cal South “D” Pre Course Assignments: You will be asked to complete three pre course assignments
Assignment #1:
The Essential FIFA Rules. You must register and complete the FIFA Laws of the Game which can be found:

Complete only the "E" License Referee Assignment Part A Module (same as “E” License).
Please print out the certificate at the end of "E" License Referee Assignment Part A.

Assignment #3:
Two weeks prior to course start date, candidate must submit two completed practice coaching sessions chosen from the below list of topics to espruell@calsouth.com:
• Goalkeeping-Shot stopping and hand distribution
• Individual Defending
• Receiving and turning
• Improve your team's ability to build up through the midfield
• Improve your team's ability to recover the ball in the defensive half.
Each practice coaching session must be conducted with an age appropriate team (U13-U14) and signed off on by the organization’s Director of Coaching or President prior to submission.
Testing Results: Candidates will receive a National "D" License, a State "D" License, or Not Ready grade. Candidates receiving a State "D" grade will be allowed to audit a portion of a future "D" course for an opportunity to receive a National "D" License, while those receiving a Not Ready grade will be required to audit an entire "D" course. However, they must wait for a period of six months before re-testing.

Cost: $ 250.00 per candidate. $225.00 as a member of the Cal South Coaches Association.

All candidates will receive a Cal South Lesson Planner, and a Nike t-shirt at a retail value of $45.
